Cities and Towns across the world are struggling with the effects of car ownership: dangerous pollution levels, land-hungry parking requirements and traffic gridlock. How could we approach transport in a different way that would reduce all of these problems and make us fitter and healthier at the same time?

Join engineer Jess Read and behaviour-change specialist Sam Robinson to look at the physical and virtual innovations helping to drive a cycling revolution.

About the speakers:

Jess Read has over 18 years experience delivering walking, cycling and healthy city projects in places like Bristol, London, Copenhagen, Oslo and Portland, Oregon. She recently led the “iWalk – innovations in inclusive walking” project based in Bristol City Council.

Sam Robinson is Managing Director of Love to Ride a company specialising in programmes, events and innovations that promote cycling in order to enhance well-being, inspire learning and enable personal development. Their work is aimed at encouraging behaviour change leading to an uptake in cycling.

Aldenham Prep School Redevelopment

January 30, 2019

NVB has submitted a planning application for a new standalone preparatory school for Aldenham School.  The new 1,900 square metre building will be self-sufficient providing all of the facilities the nursery, prep-prep and prep departments require.  Although Aldenham School has a five hundred year history, the preparatory school is relatively recent and the school decided that the time was right to provide them with purpose built facilities to suit the particular needs of that age group.

NVB’s appointment is for architectural and landscape design and the proposals include high quality play and outdoor learning facilities as well as wildlife enhancements around the periphery of the school.

NVB were appointed following a design competition and have worked with Bidwells, Stace, Integral Engineering Design, BSD and Rumball Sedgwick to develop the scheme to a tight programme. A planning decision is expected in April 2019.
